Menage A Tres was a standout barrel racing stallion whose pedigree, performance record, athletic ability, and limited first foal crops created a legacy that will continue through the next generation at 70 Ranch Performance Horses.

The 2020 bay AQHA stallion was by legendary sire Tres Seis and out of Rods Last Ladybug, by Sharp Rodney, combining generations of proven speed genetics with the ability to perform at the highest levels of modern barrel racing.

Menage A Tres earned $39,425 in recorded earnings, became an AQHA High Point Barrel Racing Open Stallion Leader, and built a performance record filled with 1D championships, futurity success, incentive earnings, reserve championships, and major event finals.

His life was far too short, but he accomplished enough to leave no question about the ability behind his pedigree. Today, his story continues through his offspring.

A Son of Tres Seis With Generations of Proven Speed

The pedigree behind Menage A Tres was built for speed. His sire, Tres Seis, is one of the most recognized names in Quarter Horse racing and barrel racing pedigrees. Menage A Tres carried that influence through a pedigree tracing to Sixarun, Streakin Six, Easy Six, Reb's Policy, Tiny Watch, and other important speed horse bloodlines.

His maternal side added another deep foundation of proven speed through Rods Last Ladybug, by Sharp Rodney. His pedigree also carries the influence of Lady Bug's Moon, giving Menage A Tres a combination of bloodlines developed around speed, athletic ability, and performance.

But Menage A Tres was never valuable simply because of the names printed on his papers. He proved the pedigree could perform.

$39,425 Earner and AQHA High Point Barrel Racing Open Stallion Leader

Menage A Tres earned $39,425 during a performance career that established him as a legitimate competitive barrel horse.

In 2023, he was already making his presence known in futurity competition. He finished fourth in the BFA World Barrel Juvenile Futurity Future Fortunes Incentive Open 1D, placed in the BBR OKC Rookie Futurity, became a Next Level Barrel Racing Futurity Sidepot Open 1D Champion, and was a BFA World Barrel Juvenile Futurity Diamond Classic Incentive finalist. Then came a powerful 2024 season...

Menage A Tres finished fourth at the Lone Star Shoot Out Barrel Futurity and third in the Lone Star Shoot Out Futurity Slot Open. He was the Breeders Challenge Guthrie Qualifier Futurity Round 2 Open Reserve Champion and earned multiple championships, reserve championships, finals appearances, and 1D placings throughout the year.

His accomplishments included multiple WWP Barrel Racing Guthrie Futurity Sidepot Open 1D Championships, a Royal Crown Barrels Guthrie Breeders Open 1D Futurity Round 2 Reserve Championship, a Royal Crown Open 1D Futurity Round 2 Reserve Championship, and a Diamond Classic Main Event Barrel Sidepot Reserve Championship.

Menage A Tres ultimately earned the distinction of AQHA High Point Barrel Racing Open Stallion Leader, adding another significant accomplishment to a career that was still developing.

More Than One Big Run

One of the most compelling parts of Menage A Tres' performance record was its depth.

His earnings were not built around one exceptional weekend.

He competed successfully across major futurities, qualifiers, incentives, sidepots, and open competition. His record includes success connected to Royal Crown, Future Fortunes, Diamond Classic, Breeders Challenge, BFA, BBR, Lone Star Shoot Out, WWP Barrel Racing, NBHA, and other major barrel racing events.

He repeatedly demonstrated the ability to run competitively in 1D company while earning championships, reserve championships, top finishes, and finals qualifications. That consistency is exactly what 70 Ranch Performance Horses looks for in a breeding stallion.

Performance has to extend beyond pedigree. Menage A Tres proved his ability in the arena.
